Educational Qualification & Specific Requirements

Minimum Qualification:

  • Degree in Engineering (B.Tech/B.E./B.Sc. Engg/B.S.) or equivalent from an AICTE-approved institution or UGC-recognized university (regular, not distance).

Desirable Qualification:

  • M.Tech/M.E./M.S. in relevant discipline (regular mode).

Work or teaching experience is not mandatory but counts as desirable qualification, earning extra merit points.

Reservation for Ex-Servicemen, Freedom Fighters & PwBD

  1. Freedom Fighters’ Descendants (2%): Grandchildren of those receiving central pension for freedom service, as per GAD letter dated 18.02.2016. Total 1 seat horizontally reserved.

  2. PwBD (4 Categories) under Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act 2016:

    • Visually Impaired (VI)

    • Deaf & Mute (DD)

    • Orthopedically Handicapped (OH)

    • Intellectual/Multi-Disabled (MD) 

Selection Procedure

  1. Written Competitive Exam (OMR-based)

    • 150 marks, duration 3 hrs, Negetive Marking 1/4

    • 150 MCQs × 1 marks each; –1/4 for wrong answers

    • Syllabus covers: General Engineering Science, General Appitude

  2.  Personality Test (Interview)

    • 30 marks

    • Commission may relax the minimum at its discretion.

    • Absent candidates will be disqualified.

Final Merit ListMerit List: The calculation of marks for special qualifications and work or teaching experience will be carried out by the Commission after the written examination and the interview, for preparing the merit list.

The merit list for candidates (quota-wise) will be prepared based on:

  • Marks obtained in the written examination and

  • Marks (out of 100) for:

    • Academic Qualification: 40 marks

    • Special Qualification: 20 marks

    • Work Experience or Teaching Experience: 10 marks

    • Interview: 30 marks

In the event of a tie in total marks, merit ranking will be decided by:

  1. Written Exam Marks: Higher written exam score ranks higher.

  2. Interview Marks: If written exam scores are also tied, higher interview score ranks higher.

  3. Devanagari Alphabetical Order: If both written and interview marks—and gender and age—are identical, preference will be given to the candidate whose name comes first in Devanagari alphabetical order.
