The selection process comprises two stages:

Online Test Pattern

  • Mode: Computer‐based, objective type.

  • Language: English & Hindi.

  • Duration: 90 minutes (1.5 hours).

  • Total Questions: 100 questions (200 marks total).

    • Discipline-related: 50 questions, 2 marks each (total 100 marks).

    • Aptitude & GK: 50 questions, 1 mark each (total 50 marks).

Personal Interview & Final Merit

  1. Shortlisting:

    • Post online test, discipline-wise merit lists drawn separately for UR/SC/ST/OBC/EWS (1:7 ratio for interview).

    • Candidates with zero/negative marks in online test are ineligible.

  2. Document Verification:

    • Shortlisted candidates must upload/produce documents (educational, caste/PwBD/EWS certificates, ID proof, etc.) within 7 days.

    • Failure to do so leads to disqualification; a waiting list will be used to maintain 1:7 ratio.

  3. Interview Call:

    • Interview call letters uploaded on RCF website → SMS/Email intimations.

    • Outstation SC/ST/PwBD candidates get TAC for III Tier AC Rail (Mail train).

  4. Interview Weightage:

    • Minimum 50% averaged in interview.

    • If online test + interview total marks tie, then qualifying exam percentage (2 decimal places) used; if still tied, older candidate ranked higher.

  5. Final Merit List:

    • Merit Score = 0.80 × (Online Test Marks) + 0.20 × (Interview Marks) (both on 100‐point scale, rounded to 2 decimals).

    • Separate merit for each category (UR/SC/ST/OBC/EWS) as per vacancies.

  6. Medical Examination:

    • Provisional empanelment → pre‐employment medical exam.

Salary, Stipend & Other Benefits

Management Trainee (One-Year Training)

RCF follows DPE guidelines for reservation & relaxations. Reservation is “horizontal‐interlocking,” meaning PwBD candidates from any category (UR/SC/ST/OBC/EWS) compete within their category but enjoy horizontal preference.

  • SC, ST, OBC (NCL), EWS, PwBD: candidates must submit certificates in Government-prescribed formats.

    • OBC (NCL): certificate dated on/after 1 April 2024, non-creamy layer declaration.
